These photos from archaeological survey in the mountains of southern Tamaulipas, northeastern Mexico, were taken by doctoral candidate Kevin Hanselka.

Three caves in this area produced important evidence for early agriculture back in the 1950s. His survey documented an additional 25 cave and open-air village sites.
