Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies

Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies is an interdisciplinary program of the School of Arts and Sciences whose purpose is to explore the historical experience; literary, religious, and cultural expression; and political and material life of the Jewish, Islamic, and Near Eastern civilizations. The program incorporates diverse disciplinary perspectives, including history, religious studies, literary criticism, language, anthropology, archaelogy, political science, and film studies.

The Program in Jewish, Islamic and Near Eastern Studies is located in Busch Hall, Room 115, on the Danforth Campus at Washington University.
