Overseas Programs is pleased to announce the receipt of a generous gift that makes possible four (4) $2500 scholarships for summer study abroad in 2008. The Rowe Travel Fellowships are competitive grants awarded to WU undergraduate students demonstrating a high level of financial need. Applicants must either select an approved ArtSci summer program, preferably outside Western Europe, or must successfully petition for an alternative program. Applicants must meet all prerequisites for study abroad, including a minimum 3.0 GPA and suitable academic preparation for the proposed program.
Summer study abroad applications are due February 15, 2008, Summer petitions are due February 1, 2008, and Rowe Travel Fellowship applications are due by February 22, 2008. All forms should be submitted to the Overseas office in Stix International House.
To apply, please complete the application form, which includes a section that Student Financial Services should complete, indicating your financial need and amount of aid currently received. Please submit these materials in person or through campus mail by the deadline to Overseas Programs, Campus Box 1088, Stix International House.
The French and AFAS departments have started a new program beginning in summer 2008 to Dakar, Senegal. The program runs from June 27-August 2, 2008 and will be about 6 weeks in length. Students will study French language and the history, politics, and culture of Senegal. Students will receive 6 credits, 3 units of French language and 3 units for AFAS. Applicants must have completed French 201 or the equivalent prior to the summer.

The Performing Arts department have created a new program beginning in summer 2008 to Paris and Rural France at Champs Melisey for upper level dance and design students. Students will receive 6 credits in Performing Arts.
The application is due on December 14, 2007 to the Performing Arts Department at Mallinckrodt 312. More information can be found on the MADE in France website.
