Childs, art history and archaeology, wins College Art Association publication grant
June 2011
Elizabeth Childs, associate professor and chair of Art History and Archaeology, was awarded a $4,000 grant from the College Art Association's Millard Meiss Publication Fund. The awards support book-length scholarly manuscripts in the history of art and related subjects that have been accepted by a publisher on their merits, but cannot be published in the most desirable form without a subsidy. Childs' project is Vanishing Paradise: Art and Exoticism in Colonial Tahiti, 1800–1901, to be published by University of California Press in 2012.
