Uprooted millet plants lie in between rows of sorghum plants, mid-August 1984. The grain heads will be cut off the millet and the stalks will be left in the field to be used in capping the yam heaps that will be planted next year. The sorghum will not be ready forvest until December.

The young girl was snacking on just-harvested peanuts, which were intercropped with the two major grains.
