Essays

With the successful release of our first issue, we are looking to expand the range of publications in our second. Please send us your work. We are interested literary, art, film, and cultural criticism, as well as book reviews and general non-fiction.

Essay Submission Guidelines

For essays, the editors welcome submissions of literary, art, film, or cultural criticism, as well as book reviews and creative non-fiction. Essays needn't focus on figures featured in Arch's poetry, fiction, translation, or interview sections, though these suggest the wide variety of essay topics that the journal can accommodate. For essays that fall outside of the critical spectrum, please query before submitting. As with fiction, please double space. All references should be listed as endnotes, following the MLA Style Guide for reference format. Please be sure to number the manuscript pages.

General Submission Guidelines

Please send submissions as attachments in RTF format (or Microsoft Word format) to the e-mail address below. For longer works, you may wish to query us before submitting.

For translations, please determine the copyright status of the original work before submitting.

Please note if material has been simultaneously submitted elsewhere. Arch Journal does not pay contributors.

Depending on the time of year, we will respond to queries and submissions within 2-4 weeks.
