Translated by Jerry Harp

This domestic man
                almost domesticated
-though he doesn't always volunteer himself-
all that he undoes
isn't to be what I am

He survives on little
        almost nothing
-you taught him this
And things rather
        assist in dying

It's not his feet weigh him down
                today he drags
his soul with him
        going upstairs
where blue is more than a promise

Trapped
    in a whirlpool
                spinning
in the direction opposite
the nostalgic hands of his watch

I don't know if he'll make it
                        with so much rain
gathering in his heart
and so much lead
                lodged in his soul

He's worn down
        -often I've stayed up late
but I won't sleep
For the first time
        reality brings him to light

Cumpleaños

Este hombre doméstico
                casi domesticado
-aunque no siempre da el paso al frente-
todo lo que deshace
no es para ser quien soy

Se vive con poco
        con casi nada
-se lo enseñaste tú
Y las cosas más bien
        ayudan a morir

No le pesan los pies
                le aplasta el alma
que hoy arrastra
        escaleras arriba
donde el azul es más que una promesa

Atrapado
    en ese remolino
                que gira
en sentido contrario
a las nostálgicas manecillas del reloj

No se si llegará
                        con tanta lluvia
empozada en el pecho
y tanto plomo
                alojado en el alma

Cansado está
        -he trasnochado mucho
pero no dormiré
por vez primera
        la realidad lo alumbra
