| Professor Symeonoglou serves as Curator of the Wulfing Collection of Greek, Roman, and Byzantine Coins housed in the Washington University Gallery of Art. He is also the founder and director of The Odyssey Project, a non-profit organization with the goal of determining the relationship between ancient remains on the island of Ithaka and Ithaka detailed in Homer's Odyssey. His recent work includes his excavations on Ithaka, Greece; The Topography of Thebes: From the Bronze age to Modern Times (Princeton, 1985); and a forthcoming book, The Master of Olympia. Professor Symeonoglou teaches courses like Myths and Monuments in the Ancient World, Art in the Egypt of the Pharaohs, Homeric Archaeology, Greek Sculpture, and Ancient Painting.
