Research facilities at Washington University include an art and architecture library of more than 80,000 volumes, which is part of the University library system of more than 2.5 million volumes, and the extensive art collection of the Mildred Lane Kemper Art Museum. These are supplemented by the collections and library of the St. Louis Art Museum, a 3-minute drive from the University; the art library of the St. Louis Public Library; the department lecture series; and the Visual Resources Collection, all unique resources for the study of the art and culture.

Learn more about the new The Sam Fox School of Design and Visual Arts, which features a new museum building designed by Pritzker Prize winning architecht Fumihiko Maki.
