What To Expect Directions Participate

Welcome to the WU Cognition & Development Lab!

Our research explores how young children reason and learn about the world around them, with a focus on children's social-cognitive development. Some of our current research interests include:

  • How children learn new words and concepts
  • Social reasoning in infants and toddlers
  • The cues infants use to learn about objects
  • Children's and adults' notions of artifact functions
  • The development of basic economic behaviors
  • Knowledge of linguistic and social conventions

If you're a parent interested in participating in one of our studies with your child, you can sign up to participate online, or by calling or emailing us.  For more information, please visit our Information for Parents page.

For interested students who would like to work in the Cognition and Development Lab as research assistants, please fill out this form.
