Registering for an ELP Course

Full-time Washington University students

Full-time Washington University students can register on WebSTAC for Fall or Spring classes. For summer classes, students should go to the University College office in January Hall, Room 20 or register through the University College Web site. For assistance in selecting an appropriate course, see a member of the ELP staff at the Office for International Students and Scholars in Stix International House, 6470 Forsyth Blvd., or call 935-5910.

Once you know which course you want, log on to the University College Web site at http://ucollege.wustl.edu/Registration and:

  • Under "Course Schedule and Registration", click "Click here"
  • On the far left, select the semester you would like to register for
  • Under school, select University College
  • Under department, select U15 English Language Programs
  • Under “Day or Evening”, select All Courses
  • Click Search
  • Scroll down to find the course you want and then click the add button
  • Select the “Grade Opt” and “Units”
  • Click Confirm
  • When all courses have been selected, click “Checkout” located at the top of the screen

 

Part-time students

Part-time students can register through University College. You may register online through the University College Web site or in person at January Hall, Room 20. For assistance in selecting an appropriate course, see a member of the ELP staff at the Office for International Students and Scholars in Stix International House, 6470 Forsyth Blvd., or call 935-5910.

Once you know which course you want, log on to the University College Web site at http://ucollege.wustl.edu/Registration and:

  • Under "Course Schedule and Registration", click "Click here"
  • On the far left, select the semester you would like to register for
  • Under school, select University College
  • Under department, select U15 English Language Programs
  • Under “Day or Evening”, select All Courses
  • Click Search
  • Scroll down to find the course you want and then click the add button
  • Select the “Grade Opt” and “Units”
  • Click Confirm
  • When all courses have been selected, click “Checkout” located at the top of the screen


WU Postdoctoral Appointees

You may register for an English Language Program class online through the University College Web site or in person at January Hall, Room 20. For assistance in selecting an appropriate course, contact the ELP staff at the Office for International Students and Scholars in Stix International House, 6470 Forsyth Blvd. (rbrefeld@wustl.edu, dbraasch@wustl.edu, Kschwelle@wustl.edu, or mielke@wustl.edu or call 935-5910).

Once you know which course you want, log on to the University College Web site at http://ucollege.wustl.edu/Registration and:

  • Under "Course Schedule and Registration", click "Click here"
  • On the far left, select the semester you would like to register for
  • Under school, select University College
  • Under department, select U15 English Language Programs
  • Under “Day or Evening”, select All Courses
  • Click Search
  • Scroll down to find the course you want and then click the add button
  • Select the “Grade Opt” and “Units”
  • Click Confirm
  • When all courses have been selected, click “Checkout” located at the top of the screen
  • For Payment, select "WU Benefit Plans" and then select "Postdoctoral Appointees." Check "I agree" and then click on "Add Method of Payment." You will receive a message that additional paperwork is required to complete your registration.

Next, scroll to the bottom of the UCollege web site and click on "Procedures and Forms" (http://ucollege.wustl.edu/node/172) for instructions on filling out the form for tuition assistance. This form must be signed by your faculty advisor and then given to the appropriate person in your school as listed at the top of the form. Once you have registered online and your form has been processed, you will receive a confirmation of your registration. Be sure to save your student number from the form because at the end of the semester, you will be asked to evaluate the class and you will have to use that number.

Follow the instructions above, except you do not have to have the form, “Tuition Assistance Request for Postdoctoral Appointees."
