The photos displayed here were taken in the summer (May - July) and fall (October - December) of 2006 while conducting research on the National Science Foundation funded project titled "Economic Development and Intergenerational Relations in the Tibet Autonomous Region, China." This is a joint project with Melvyn Goldstein at Case Western Reserve University and the Tibetan Academy of Social Sciences in Lhasa. Betsag, Norkyung, and Sogang are the three villages where we are conducting fieldwork in rural Tsang.
