German Day
Poster Contest
Rules and Information
- Due to the renovation of Umrath Lounge , we have had to limit the contest to one poster per school so that we can display the posters on easels.
- Posters should have the following format: 30" x 40" x 3/16". They should consist of lightweight foam board.
- Posters may be prepared by individuals or by a group.
- Teachers should ensure that posters are in good taste. The German Department reserves the right not to display posters that might violate the standards of the Washington University community.
- For each poster a 3x5 index card, clearly indicating the name of the individual(s) or group, the name of the teacher and of the school, should be handed to the activity coordinator when the poster is submitted. A second card containing the same information should be securely attached to the lower front left corner of the poster. The same information should also be written on the back of each poster.
- Upon arrival, posters and index cards should be taken to Umrath Lounge.
- Posters will be judged by members of the German Department. The results of the contest will be available by the conclusion of German Day.
- First, second, and third prizes will be awarded if possible. These may be group prizes rather than individual prizes if more than one student worked on the poster. Prize-winning posters may be retained by the German Department.
- Posters may be picked up in Umrath Lounge shortly after 12:30. Left-over posters will be taken to the German Department, but will be stored there for only a short time.
