Dr. Poag is the author of Wolfram von Eschenbach (1972) and coeditor of Das Weiterleben des Mittelalters in der deutschen Literatur (1982). He is the coeditor of Entzauberung der Welt. Deutsche Literatur 1200-1500 (1989), and has written articles on Heinrich von Veldeke, Wolfram von Eschenbach, Gottfried von Strassburg, the Nibelungenlied, Walter von der Vogelweide, and Meister Eckhart. Dr. Poag has been awarded both Fulbright and Humboldt research fellowships.His research interests include literature of the Early and High Middle Ages, the medieval romance, medieval law and literature, medieval literature and biblical exegesis, language of medieval mysticism, history of the German language, and Middle High German.
