Welcome to my webpages. I am an assistant professor in the department of philosophy at Washington
University in St Louis. I got my Ph.D. from Princeton in 2004, and once upon a time I was an undergraduate at the
University of St Andrews. I have been attempting to infiltrate the Australasian philosophy scene by
spending all my (northern) summers as a visiting scholar at Melbourne University, and I've also been a Killam
Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Alberta.
So far my research has been mainly in philosophy of language and logic, metaphysics and epistemology. I've just finished a book on the analytic/synthetic distinction entitled Truth in Virtue of Meaning. There is a list of my upcoming and recent talks here,
webpages for the courses I teach here. I also run one weblog - logicandlanguage.net - and contribute to another - Thoughts, Arguments and Rants.
