Each of the ILP projects attempted to give us an informed, firsthand look at contemporary international issues, while also providing us with the resources to take action on such subjects. The International Development proposals allowed us to become mini-experts on specific development problems and then derive solutions to these situations. The ILPers were able to choose a country of interest to research through the China: Price of Power project and build upon this newly acquired knowledge by making the wider Wash U campus aware of the current situation in China. The Global Campus Project was an opportunity to get involved with the wider effort to stem the tide of global warming.  We first researched ways in which Washington University could ameliorate its negative impact on the environment. After conducting this research, we presented strategies to the university administration for accomplishing this goal. Overall, ILP has contributed to my awareness of international issues and has equipped me with a skill set to take action concerning these topics.
