SEMINAR
The ILP seminar is a one-hour, one-credit seminar that brings the entire ILP cohort together weekly for the entire academic year. The purpose of the seminar is to provide a weekly opportunity for ILP scholars to meet, hear expert speakers, discuss pertinent international issues, and work on the fall and spring leadership projects.
Expert Speakers
Over the summer ILP scholars will have a chance to submit three international issues that they would like to better understand. From that aggregate list of interests, ILP coordinators will put together a seminar speaker series made up of on-campus faculty, regional scholars, and local international leaders to lecture on these international issues. This series offers students a chance to have their specific international interests addressed while also giving them access to experts in their field of interest in a more informal, discussion-based format.
Leadership Projects
During the Fall and the Spring ILP students will be asked to participate in campus and St. Louis wide event programming on an international topic of their choice. Through these projects students will learn the ins and outs of researching an international topic, planning an academic event, promoting international issues in the community and in the media and networking with other campus groups and St. Louis organizations.
