What did I get out of ILP? Where to start? I think the most beneficial part was all the small exclusive classes. As a freshman, I thought it cool but did not fully appreciate this; now, as a rising junior, I yearn for smaller classes. It really allowed for the creation of a sense of community among the members and real personal relationships with professors, and both ofthese are hard to establish for freshmen. At the same time, there are some really intriguing people in the ILP, and having them made for great discussionsand lasting friendships. These people then allow for interesting synergetic extracurricular projects, which range from organizing a film festival, creating an awareness week for an issue, doing teach-ins, discovering cool clubs to joinor find, and discovering passions to pursue later in college. I am a much better person for doing ILP, and joining it was one of the best decisions I have made at Washington University.
