The "Indian Women" Group

The Osage Indians
Becky Bernard lives in Marine on St. Croix, Minnesota, a half-hour north of St. Paul. She has sled dogs at home that she's raced since she was 10, but she doesn't anymore
since she's been at Wash U. Her favorite TV shows are definitely Friends and The
Simpsons. She doesn't watch them much now though 'cause her TV broke. She loves Outkast, who she saw in concert last summer, and also listens to Eve, Missy Elliot, John Mellenkamp, Boston, Marc Cohn... she has a pretty wide taste in music. She will major in either biology or history most likely. She might want to be a veterinarian, but she's
really interested in the experiences people have had throughout history so that's a possibility too. That's why she took the Lewis and Clark class and loves American Cultures Studies! Click on a link to see Outkast's home page or The Simpsons home page .

Amanda Klinger is from Verona, New Jersey, a small suburb near New York City. She runs track for Wash U (short sprints and hurdles) and will most likely major in Psychology, with a minor in Spanish. She'll always have a special place in her heart for American Culture Studies, though! She loves music, especially undiscovered rock bands. Check out some up-and-coming artists by clicking on a link: Virginia Coalition , Dispatch, or John Mayer . Personal quote: "There is a road, no simple highway, between the dawn and dark of night. And if you go, no one may follow. That path is for your steps alone" - Grateful Dead
.
The Chinook and Sahaptin Indians

Peter Kornmeier grew up in Chevy Chase, Maryland. As a child he always knew that he wanted to be an AMCS major. Now he thanks God every day for the opportunity to realize his lifelong dream. You may have have been sitting here and reading his profile (actually he can't imagine anyone doing that so he might as well stop right now) and thinking, "Hey! Is it just a coincidence that Peter has the same first name and initials as Kastor?!?!?!" Well the answer is no, it is not a coincidence, it is just a sign from above that he too, will soon write books on people that already died, because after all, in order to understand the present and future, one must first understand the past. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with Angelica and listening. His favorite website is the Washington Post Sports Page . Be sure to go there and read up D.C. sports every day. He's also a frequent visitor of the American Culture Studies site.

The Hidatsa Indians

Ashley Simon is from Grosse Pointe, Michigan (just like the movie!), where she enjoys hanging out with friends, shopping (she has great clothes), reading up on American Culture Studies, and listening to music. Among her favorite artists and groups are Bob Dylan, Bela Fleck , Bob Marley , Dave Matthews, U2, The Toots and the Maytals , Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra. (click on a link to go to that page). Favorite quote: "Concerning the difference between man and the jackass: some observers hold taht there isn't any. But this wrongs the jackass" - Mark Twain

Sacagawea

Sarah Ulrey lived the first eighteen years of her life in Indianapolis,
Indiana, but she "moved down" to Newburgh, Indiana "at the age of eighteen"
just like in her favorite Tom Petty song. She enjoys spending time with her
friends, reading about American Culture, and 4-wheeling in the coal mines. Her
favorite place to visit it Lake Doogaroo. She'll most likely major in
Psychology and English, and possibly minor in Spanish so she can travel to
exotic locales. Sarah is a big fan of the Dave Matthews Band and the under- appreciated genius of Alana Davis .
