| Which web browser can I use? |
Microsoft Internet Explorer, version 6.0 in Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 with
Service Pack 6a (SP6a) and higher, Windows 2000, Windows XP. Microsoft Internet Explorer version 5.1 and 5.2 on Mac OS X 10.2.8. Safari 1.1 on Mac OS X 10.3. Note: JavaScript must be enabled in the web browser. |
| User Limit Exceeded | Our software limits the number of users who can concurrently use the registration form. If you see this message, please try again or come back later. |
| Page Not Found | If you click on the Register Now button and receive an error message "Not Found: The requested URL /fmi/iwp/cgi was not found on this server," this indicates that we are experiencing technical difficulties with the Music Department server. Please try again later. |
| My applied music course does not appear on WebStac | You will not be able to see your course on WebSTAC until the end of the 4th week of the semester. If it is past the 4th week of the semester and your course still does not appear on WebSTAC, contact Peggy Bischof, (314) 935-5574 |
| I can't get hold of my instructor | If you are trying to reach your instructor by e-mail, try calling them instead. If you don't have their phone number, you can get it from Peggy Bischof (935-5574). Remember to be patient. |
| Do I qualify for financial aid? |
Students with partial University Scholarships, or who are receiving
Government financial aid in the form of PELL Grants, or Stafford
Loans qualify for a fee reduction.
Music Majors and Music Department Graduate Students qualify for a full fee waiver. Music Minors receive a small fee reduction for up to 9.0 units of music lessons Registered members of performing groups (such as Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Choir, etc.) receive a small fee reduction. |
| I'm Washington University Faculty/Staff. Will my tuition benefit cover my lessons? | No. Unlike other courses, music lessons are taught individually. Human Resources has determined that the employee tuition benefit does not apply to Applied Music lessons. |
| I'm not sure if I want a letter grade or not. Can I change my mind later? | You can change your grade from Pass/Fail to a letter Grade until about 12 weeks into the semester (check the course listings for actual deadlines). You can change from Letter Grade to Pass/Fail until about 3 weeks into the semester. Check the Course Listings for actual deadlines. |
| I'm a University College Student. Can I sign up for lessons through your online form? | Yes. |
| I've tried everything but I still can't register online!!!!! | Some web browsers are not supported by our software. Try using a computer terminal in the Gaylord Music Library or Olin Library. If all else fails, stop by the Music Office and a member of the staff can make sure you get registered. |
