Location
Toulouse, France

Dickinson College’s program is located at the University of Toulouse. The city of Toulouse is noted for its many pink brick buildings, earning it the nickname “la ville rose.” Situated in the heart of southwestern France, two hours from the Mediterranean Sea and two and one-half hours from the Atlantic Ocean, Toulouse lies just north of the Pyrenees Mountains on the Garonne River. In a recent survey, French citizens rated it the city in which they would most like to live (excluding Paris), based upon quality of life. The University is the second-largest in the country and was built in the thirteenth century.

Housing
To ensure that they experience local culture to the fullest, students on the Toulouse program are housed with French families.

Student Life
Academic excursions and cultural events enrich the program. Students visit such sites as medieval cities like Carcassonne, medieval ruins like the Cathar castles, Romanesque churches and monasteries, fortified villages, as well as prehistoric caves. Toulouse offers a wide range of cultural activities such as movies, theater, concerts, opera, ballet, and clubs, as well as opportunities for private travel in France and Europe.

The Dickinson College Toulouse Program has its own resident director who oversees the staff, plans and leads the academic program, advises students and teaches.
