Location
Rome, Italy

The program is located in the fascinating ancient city of Rome, Italy, at Duke’s Intercollegiate Center for Classical Studies (ICCS). Located in a four-story building on one of the main streets of the Janiculum, the Center is ten minutes by bus from the Piazza Venezia and downtown Rome. It is close to the American Academy in Rome with which it maintains cordial relations.

Students are housed in each of the 36 rooms (mostly doubles) belonging to the ICCS, which also includes classrooms, a library, offices, dining rooms, and a kitchen. The neighborhood is residential with apartment buildings, small shops, cafes, and services.

Student Life
Rome offers abundant opportunities to students: shops, ruins, art, music and theater and nightlife. It is also perfectly situated for excursions to other parts of Italy and beyond.
