University College, University of London (UCL)
Areas of Study
UCL has a wide range of academic departments, which are appropriate for students majoring in the following fields: Anthropology, Art History, Biology, Economics, English, Legal Studies, Math, Philosophy, and Physics.
UCL is not approved for WU students majoring in psychology or political science (see other WU programs for these subjects). The UCL Economics Department is not suitable for business students unless they have strong preparation in economics and math.

Eligibility
Minimum 3.5 GPA for majors in Economics, English and History. For other approved majors, there is a minimum 3.3 GPA. At least three courses of prior or current academic work relevant to the area to be studied at UCL. Admission is by department.
WU Credits
Full course load valued at 15-16 units per semester, which is normally four courses, at least two of which must be within the admitting UCL department.
Location
London, England (UK)
UCL is a prestigious British institution of higher education. It is located in central London in the vicinity of other Colleges and libraries comprising the University of London. It is close to the British Museum too.
Housing
Visiting students usually are offered a place in either a UCL or intercollegiate residence. The majority of UCL residences are self-catered student houses with kitchens that are shared with other students. The UCL and intercollegiate residence halls include cafeteria meals in the contract rate. The intercollegiate halls may not be available for January entry. Commercial apartments are available at higher cost if a student residence is not available or not desired.
Student Life
UCL is located just north of Oxford Street and the British Museum. Students enjoy being in the center of the British capital, with it’s culture, arts, politics, government, media, etc. London has over 200 museums, 150 theatres, 34,000 shops, 5,700 pubs, and 8,000 acres of parklands. The UCL Union provides many clubs and activities and hosts regular events and entertainments. For students wanting to socialize and relax, the Union provides a number of bars and cafés.
On-Site Support
WU contracts with Accent International for support of its London programs. The UCL International Office and Student Residences Office provide significant support too.
Application Process
The application process differs based your department's approval of this program.
If this program is approved by your department you must submit a completed WU Semester/AY Study Abroad Application with program-specific forms to the Overseas Programs office in McMillan 138. If this program is not approved by your department, then you must meet with Jennifer White Reding before proceeding with your application.
