As a fourteen-year veteran of the Dayton Contemporary Dance Company, Mr. Slaughter has performed extensively with the company throughout the United States. His international tours include Seoul, South Korea, Moscow, France, and Germany. The company has also been featured annually at such prestigious dance festivals as Jacob's Pillow in Lee, MA. and the American Dance Festival in Durham, NC, Duke University Campus. Some notable choregraphers he has worked with are Alvin Ailey, Talley Beatty, Doug Varone, James Truitte, and a host of others. Mr. Slaughter hsa been a featured artist in many of the company's works. They include the "Junkie" in Eleo Pomare's Blues for the Jungle, Ulysses Dove's Urban Folk Dance, the role of "lil Lou" in Donald McKayle's District Storyville, and a soloist in McKayle's Rainbow Round My Shoulder. A few of his theatre credits are Mahalia's Song, Black Nativity, Aida, and Applause.

As a choreographer, Mr. Slaughter has set contemporary works on the Dayon Contemporary Dance Company in collaboration with the Grammy Award winning a cappella group Sweet Honey in the Rock; University of Iowa, Washington University, University of Dayton, Dance Theater of Dayton, Opus II, Ballet West Virginia, Black Genesis Dance Company, and Gateway Dance Theater. He has also choreographed several theatrical productions of plays and musicals.

Mr. Slaughter has had several works recognized for choreographic achievement. These works include Spirituals, which was performed at the Kennedy Center for the Arts in Washington, DC as part of the American College Dance Festival Association's national dance showcase, 1998. Surrender was selected by the Washington University faculty to be adjudicated in the ACDFA regional festival in March 2000. Other honors include two works selected for the Ohio Emerging Choreographers Showcase, 1992-93.
