Research Interests:
Professor Carpenter conducts research on the clinical psychology of aging. His research focuses on family relationships in late life, with a particular emphasis on collaborative family decision-making and brief family interventions. Other research activities focus on older patient-physician interactions, ethical issues in dementia care, and promoting the well being of older adults in long-term care settings.
