Besides
choosing a primary research mentor, the student, in consultation
with his or her mentor, will also form a dissertation committee
of at least two other faculty members. While working
on the dissertation, the student will regularly consult with
the dissertation committee concerning the progress of the study. When
the written dissertation has been approved by the student's
committee, the final oral examination is scheduled. The
student defends the dissertation before an examining committee
consisting of the dissertation committee and other members
of the faculty appointed by the Department. |
