Qualifying Research Project:

The qualifying research project has as it's goal (a) early development of a research program, (b) encouragement of students to contribute to the literature, and (c) early articulation of the student's doctoral dissertation. Once the project is completed and presented to the public, the Masters degree is awarded. The qualifying research project is often the prelude to the dissertation.
