Faculty Resources

We believe that the only way for students to improve as writers is by writing. With this premise in mind, we have developed several services to encourage faculty members in a variety of disciplines to assign writing in their courses. The Writing Center offers workshops for faculty members and teaching assistants on the following topics: Devising Effective Writing Assignments, Implementing Informal Writing in Courses, and Evaluating Student Writing. Doreen Salli, the director of the Writing Center, would be happy to meet individually with instructors to discuss these topics or others related to student writing. She would also be happy to visit classes and give a brief (ten minutes) presentation about the Writing Center. If you would like additional information on these services, call Doreen Salli at 935-9817 or send her an e-mail at dssalli@wustl.edu.

Here are our flyers (Workshop Schedule and General Flyer). We encourage faculty to pass these out to students or to include copies in their syllabi, to help students become aware of all the services the Writing Center offers. Thank you.
